TEF courses

French increases your points for immigration.

Learning French is beneficial for many reasons. For example, you could improve your career prospects, have a better travel experience, pursue a hobby, and succeed in business. The list is endless.

But there is one big motivation that drives French popularity among language learners, especially in recent times.

This is to get additional points for immigration to Canada or permanently moving to the French-speaking Quebec region.

French is one of Canada’s two official languages and the only de facto language of Quebec province.

The Canadian government awards significant points to boost your overall chances based on how well you speak French. You may need proof of competency for that.

There are various French examinations like DELF, DALF, TEF, TCF, etc. Of all the choices, they accept TEF and TCF for short-term purposes. And that’s why the validity of these is only 2 years.

Which French exam is valid for Canada and Quebec?

There are ten distinct variants of TEF (Test d’évaluation de Français) and TCF (Test de connaissance du Français).

For Canada, they accept only two, i.e., TEF Canada and TCF Canada.

If your goal is immigration to the Québec province, select one of the two specialized French tests, TEFAQ (TEF Québec) or TCF Québec.

Quebec also accepts DELF, DALF, TEC, TCF, and TCF Canada as per their guidelines.

The above four French exams can assist you in gaining extra points for your CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System for Canada’s Express Entry). And also for QSWP (Quebec Skilled Worker Program).

You will also have better job prospects in Canada if you speak French fluently, especially in the eastern parts of the country.

Plus, a higher TEF or TCF score can help you in B2/C1 of DELF and DALF, which can benefit your career.

What French tests are accepted in France?

The French ability also helps you pursue higher study, work, or settle in France.

Take one of the 6 versions as per your goal.

  1. TEF (For various purposes like study, job, visa, etc.)
  2. TEF IRN (For French nationality or residency).
  3. TEF Études (For Studies in France)
  4. TCF (Multipurpose like educational, personal, and professional).
  5. TCF pour DAP (To study in France).
  6. TCF IRN (For French nationality or residency).

You can benefit if you want to do higher study, get a work permit, or plan to apply for a French nationality and residency card.

This can also improve your probability of finding employment in France and the Francophone countries.
