How DELE scoring works. Each of the four skills is marked out of 25. Reading and writing form Group 1, listening and speaking form Group 2, each out of 50. From A1 to B2 you need at least 30.00 in each group, which is 60%. The groups do not compensate for each other.
The A2/B1 and B2/C1 Escolar exams award either of their two levels from a single sitting. The level you receive is the one you reach in both groups. If your groups reach different levels, the lower one is awarded.

Why This Calculator Exists
Because the DELE scoring rule confuses almost everyone, and the confusion costs people money.
Candidates see a total out of 100, assume 60 is a pass, and are shocked when a total of 74 comes back as No Apto. It happens constantly. The reason is that the DELE never scores you out of 100 in a single bucket. It scores two groups of 50, and both have to clear 30 independently.
Work the arithmetic, and it becomes obvious. A candidate with 24 reading, 21 writing, 17 listening, and 12 speaking has 74 out of 100 and a No Apto, because Group 2 sits at 29.
That single point of misunderstanding is worth a calculator.
How DELE Scoring Actually Works
Each of the four skills is worth 25 points. Reading and writing form Group 1, out of 50. Listening and speaking form Group 2, out of 50. From A1 to B2, you need at least 30.00 in each group, which is 60%. The groups do not compensate for each other, and your result is reported as Apto or No Apto.

Two consequences worth internalizing before your exam, not after:
Your weakest skill decides your result. Not your average. The DELE is designed to confirm you can actually use the language, not that you’re strong in two areas.
Partial passes don’t carry over. If you clear one group and miss the other, you retake all four papers next session. There’s no banking a group.
For Indian learners, the group that fails is usually Group 2. Reading strength builds early and naturally. Listening at native speed and speaking to an examiner are separate skills that require deliberate practice, and the scoring combines them.
The Dual-Level Escolar Exams
The A2/B1 and B2/C1 Escolar exams for students aged 11 to 17 allow students to earn either level in a single sitting. Your two group scores are each assessed against two thresholds, and the level you receive is the one you reach in both groups. If the groups reach different levels, the lower one is awarded.
A2/B1 Escolar, per group out of 50:

What to Do With Your Result
If both groups clear comfortably, you’re practicing at the right level. Keep the balance rather than over-training your strong skills.
If one group is marginal, that’s your entire study plan for the coming weeks. Roughly 70% of your time on the weak group, 30% maintaining the strong one, so the strong one doesn’t slip.
If a group falls well short, have an honest conversation about level choice before you register. A failed attempt costs the full fee and several months. Our DELE fees and centers set out what that actually is.
If you’re checking a real result and came up just short, a score review may be worth requesting, particularly when the shortfall sits in writing or speaking. Those papers are marked by examiners and can move. Reading and listening are automatically scored and rarely change. Details in our DELE results and retake, along with the one-month deadline.
Getting Your Weak Group Above 30
The uncomfortable truth about self-preparation: you can mark your own reading and listening accurately, and you cannot mark your own writing and speaking at all.
Register, coherence, range, and task fulfillment are invisible from the inside. You don’t hear that your connectors repeat or that your monologue sounds recited. That’s precisely why Group 2 fails most often, and why the papers that move on to review are the human-marked ones.
