DELF B1 preparation course

If you’ve already cleared A2 and you’re thinking about the B1 syllabus, you may wonder how you’ll study for the DELF B1 test issued by France Éducation Internationale. The jump from A2 to B1 is the biggest one most French learners feel in the whole CEFR ladder, and a generic French class won’t get you across it. You need classes built around the exam, taught by someone who has walked thousands of students through it.

That’s what we do at LanguageNext. Our DELF B1 preparation course is aligned with the CEFR and covers every level from A1 to B2. It provides a clear, focused, practical learning path, guided by people who understand both the language and the test.

LanguageNext, founded by Mr. Vikash Gupta, has been offering French lessons for almost fifteen years. We have developed a practical and engaging curriculum that has successfully trained over 2,400 candidates. We cover all levels, from beginners to advanced, covering DELF A1-B2 and TEF/TCF Canada.

DELF B1 Exam Overview

The DELF B1 exam is for learners who can already communicate in French and want to reach an independent level. It is often chosen by students, professionals, and people planning to study or work in a French-speaking environment.

What the B1 test covers:

  • Listening: Longer radio extracts, interviews, and conversations (around 25 minutes)
  • Reading: Articles, letters, and opinion pieces on familiar topics (around 35 minutes)
  • Writing: An essay or personal account of 160–180 words on a given theme (around 45 minutes)
  • Speaking: A structured monologue followed by a conversation with the examiner (around 15 minutes)

Exam format at a glance

  • Total score: 100 points, with 25 points per skill
  • Passing score: 50 out of 100, with at least 5 out of 25 on each skill
  • Total written time: about 1 hour 45 minutes
  • Certificate validity: lifetime, with no renewal required

Our DELF B1 classes are designed for this exact exam format, with mock tests and focused feedback at every stage.

I joined LanguageNext for DELF A2 after completing A1 somewhere else. The difference in teaching was clear from the first week. The course was well organized, and every lesson was connected to the DELF exam. The study material and practice tests made preparation much easier.
