There isn’t any specific short-term course that matches well with Korean. Some of them use English skills for translation work. Many also work in the IT field. Try some career-oriented master’s programs.

It has been 2 months since I have been studying the Korean language. As class duration is of three months they cover till TOPIK LEVEL 2. I am able to get the job in mnc company after completing level 2, as I want to keep on learning the language after getting the job also. Please let me know the possibility of getting a job after completing LEVEL 2.

I’m not sure about their level 2 in 6 months. TOPIK has 6 levels (I – 1 & 2 and II- 3 to 6). So if you’re looking for jobs requiring Korean, aim for at least TOPIK level IV/V, which will take 2-3 years. It isn’t easy to get any meaningful opportunity after 6 months of Korean study.

Yes, there is sufficient demand for deserving professionals. You can learn from any private institute or Inko Centre in Chennai, but make sure you achieve meaningful higher fluency required for a Korean language specialist job.
How much minimum time it will take to learn to work in any Korean language-related job if I am pursuing any crash course from any private institute.
A short-term crash course won’t be enough for a career perspective. Look for a long term 2-3 year program that covers at least TOPIK level IV.

To be fluent in Korean like near-native, it will take 4-5 years. The fees vary and depend on the educational institution where you’re planning to study. For Korean college fees, you have to contact the respective University or any overseas consultant agency. For scholarships, you can check GKS 2021.

Everyone starts with zero experience, but over a period of time, you will gain experience and progress in the translation field. Also, a career as a translator requires a near-native level proficiency. Since TOPIK 1 is a beginner’s level, you should at least aim for TOPIK level 5 in the future.

Yes, there are plenty of job opportunities combining the Korean language and IT. Symbiosis is ok, but they only teach till the elementary level. Beyond that, there aren’t enough good options to learn Korean in Pune or Mumbai.

I always wanted to be a foreign translator/interpreter. I live in Pune. Almost everyone knows that European languages have been spoken worldwide, even I also had this thought once in my mind to learn German. But when I took an interest in Asian languages, among them was Korean, so I also want to be a Korean interpreter. But since I’ve read your view here, Korean learning institutes like Symbiosis are good, but that’s good only for the elementary level.
So I’m now confused about what to do after elementary level. To be a Korean translator/interpreter, I’ll have to excel in it. So please can you share or give any suggestions on what I should do after completing the elementary level. And also, one question, as there’s no degree (BA) course in Pune/Mumbai in the Korean language, pursuing a BA in any field will be okay?

Only JNU, Jamia Millia Islamia (Both Delhi), and CUJ Ranchi offer BA and MA in Korean. So, if you’re ready to shift, you can take the entrance test for these universities. To my knowledge, there is no degree choice in Maharashtra. Another option is to continue beyond the beginner level by taking the classes from a Korean online teacher, books, and audio and video lessons. There might be new possibilities in the future to study Korean to an advanced level in Pune.

No. One needs TOPIK level 5 or 6 to work as a translator. And this will take roughly 3-4 years, but that depends on your approach. There are 8 levels at KCC, and each takes approximately 4 months.

It will difficult to get a Korean interpreter job based on a Diploma. You should continue to complete an Advanced diploma, and perhaps an MA in Korean later. You can make a C.V., upload on various job portals, be active on Linkedin, search Korean companies in India, look for students wish to learn Korean, etc.
