  1. Hello Sir,
I’ve been learning Spanish online for a while. After reaching a certain level of proficiency in it, can I appear for SIELE exam directly? Enrollment in an offline language learning course is not mandatory for it. There are no such criteria. Am I right?

  2. Thank you for all the details, sir. I’ve always wanted to learn a foreign language. I’ve now chosen Spanish and started investing my time in learning with online resources. Are there any online certification exams where I can directly enroll for a test with self-learning?

    1. Vikash Gupta

To my knowledge, there is no online test. It is not feasible either. Certification is only possible if you enroll for a course at any educational institution. You can also give offline DELE or SIELE Diploma exams. There are many test centers in India.

  3. Hello sir,
I am mouly. I am a self-learner of Spanish. With my attributions to language lately, I have joined in a BPO, but I dreamt of being a Spanish Translator. I request you to suggest my the companies offering Translator Jobs. Your time and suggestion Will be highly appreciated.

    1. There are plenty of such companies. Amazon, Accenture, IBM, Evalueserve, Convergys, HCL, Orange, iEnergizer are some of the organizations. In most cases, they require at least B2.

  4. Aarchika Jaiswal

I am learning Spanish online but I want to have certified training in the language. I don’t know much about SIELE exam. Can you help me know more about it? When can I sit for the exam for (A1) and how much will it cost?
    Please help

    1. If you have achieved the knowledge of A1, you can appear for the exam. You can check your competency through Sample or previous year question papers. Where you want to take the SIELE test? You can check the list of centers in this article, and contact the nearest one.

  5. Hello sir,
I am studying a foreign course in management accounting and wish to learn a language to help me in abroad. I have planned to learn Spanish and I have started learning. Do I need a certificate i.e. DELE exam and like to prove to my employer that I am a qualified Spanish professional or that is not needed as my mainstream is not at all concerned with that language? Or if a certificate is not needed then how will I make my employer understand that I know Spanish?

    1. The certification is required almost everywhere. The shortlisted candidates are invited for the interview on the basis of recognized certifications and required level. Once you achieve some Spanish proficiency, why not appear for DELE or SIELE exam? It is just a few hour exams. Without these Diplomas, it is very difficult to know the competence level of any candidates.

    Hello sir,
I’m in 12th and I’m looking forward to seeing my career in Spanish and other foreign languages. While I was searching for language courses, I found Jamia Jamia Islamia university has many language courses including Spanish. What is a part-time course? I’m a little confused.

    1. Part-time courses are certificate, diploma, and advanced diploma. The classes are held for a few hours a week, and one can attend the sessions without disturbing other engagements like regular degree programs.

  7. Respected Sir, I am from Law background but currently a non-practicing Lawyer. I enrolled myself in Ramkrishna Mission Kolkata for the Spanish course. Is it a wise decision to study only a foreign language for better career opportunities or should I search other career options too?

    1. You can also make a specialist career as a Spanish expert. There is a number of people including me working full-time in the broad spectrum of languages. You can first aim for higher competence level like DELE Diploma B2/C1 and then apply to new openings related to Spanish. However, this will take time (at least a few years) and some risk too.

Therefore, I would suggest to continue with Spanish and also add more In-Demand Skills on your resume.
