    1. There is a Turkish Proficiency Exam (TPE). The Yunus Emre Institute Exam Center developed this test as per the guidelines of CEFR. But, this isn’t a famous test, and there aren’t many testing centers worldwide, including India.

  1. Is there any Hindi Language Proficiency Test? I was wondering that I should master my own mother language before mastering any other language.
    Reply, please.

    1. Not that I’m aware of. Mother tongue itself means you are fluent. It may not be academically but enough for day-to-day activities in nearly all settings and environments. I’d suggest learning a new language.

  2. Bhuukya Balunayak

How to write the exam and also this exam is conducting for 6th class. How exam paper will come and also what to write.

  3. Which institutes offer Arabic Language courses combined with CEFR tests in India? Any recommendations? The student has a basic knowledge of Arabic and studying it as a third language till Grade 8. The objective is to get enrolled in an international university (EU/US).

    1. CEFR is only meant for European languages, and I’m not aware of any Arabic test that follows those guidelines. There is ALPT (Arabic Language Proficiency Test), but to my knowledge, there is no test center in India.

  4. I would like to learn the Arabic language for making my career. Please recommend the institutions which provide certificate courses and, also provide the details of the exam center in India. I am from Jaipur, Rajasthan.

  5. Roshnan Mohanan V

I am a mixed birth race of the Philippines and India but born from Bahrain, my native language is English, yet I lack in the regional languages such as Hindi and Malayalam. And I am curious to know if there is any certified local language proficiency test in India. It will be helpful not just for me but for others as well to become a Certified Translator.

    1. There are many educational institutions in India offering Hindi and various regional languages, along with certification. But this is something that I never reviewed. So, difficult to suggest something meaningful.

  6. Mr. Vikash Gupta
I would like to learn Mandarin Chinese, Arabic, and Spanish during my vacations one after another. Can you recommend a few Institutes that provide these courses where I can complete my basic courses within one month?

    1. Why do you want to study one language only for one month? There is no advantage in that. Most of the beginner’s level courses range between 3 to 6 months. Pick one language, and join any institute. I can suggest a few options if you tell me the location and which language you want to study.

  7. Mr. Vikash,

Can you tell me about how many total students appear for the top 10 Language Certification in India per year? I will be grateful for your answer.
    Regards
    Niraj

    1. There is no such data, but my guess is close to 6 figures if I consider all certifications (University, International, private, and others).

    1. Not compulsory but recommended. It is incredibly challenging to acquire a language without any teacher or learning center.

  8. Sir, please guide me. I want to learn Japanese for my making career in the foreign language field. I am confused between the value given by embassy related institutes like MOSAI versus the private institutes. My confusion is that they have the same value? (for a good job, atleast?) I know that Mosaic gives higher exposure to Japanese culture, but for a career-oriented thing isn’t the normal private institutes enough or a good option in this career?

    Thank you, sir.

    1. From the job perspective, private institutes are as good as embassy affiliated educational center provided that quality of teaching, course content, and reputation is good enough. Later, you can also appear for international JLPT test.

    1. You can contact GMAB in Bangalore. They conduct CNAVT Dutch proficiency test. I think it is the only center in India.

  9. Dear Sir,

Will be grateful if you can guide more about TORFL exam, it’s test centres in India, Exam dates and sites to apply for the same.

    1. The Russian proficiency test i.e TORFL consists of 6 different levels as per CEFRL. The total time to take the test is five hours and usually the exam takes place over two days. The exam is conducted usually 6 times in a year. You can check the centres outside Russia LINK. While there is no Indian test centre in the list, I’m certain that Langma at South Ex-I, New Delhi is one such centre. Contact them for more details.
