When is the DELF exam held in India this year?
The DELF and DALF exams in India is held four times a year. DELF Junior and Prim have separate dates. Not all centers offer every level in every session, so checking in advance is a must. The written exam date is fixed across all DELF test centers in India. The oral exam is scheduled by each Alliance Française, usually within a few days of the written date.
The calendar is set by France Éducation International and followed by every Alliance Française in India. So DELF A1 in Delhi, DELF A2 in Kolkata, DELF B1 in Mumbai, and DELF B2 in Chennai share the same written date.
2026 Exam Calendar (DELF & DALF Tout Public, Junior, Prim)
Based on the official AF 2026 DELF/DALF calendar, here are the four sessions for adult candidates (17+). Each level (A1 to C2) has its own day within a session. Oral exams follow within 7 to 10 days of the written test, often on a weekend.
Always confirm the exact date on your center’s official site before you register. Some regional centers follow the same written dates, with only minor changes to the speaking exams.
DELF & DALF for adults will take place in March, June, September, and December. Junior 2026 dates fall in July and December. DELF Prim runs in school-friendly windows. These don’t clash with Tout Public sessions. Registration often goes through schools tied up with Alliance Française.

Note: All exams will be conducted at all 15 centers, except July, which will be conducted at only 5 centers (Ahmedabad, Kolkata (only DELF A1), Bhopal, Chandigarh, and Lucknow).
When does DELF registration open?
DELF 2026 registration opens 4 to 6 weeks before each session and closes 2 to 3 weeks before the exam. Seats are limited and booked on a first-come, first-served basis. B1 and B2 seats on metros often fill up a few days in advance. Here is the rough rhythm for 2026.
- March session: Opens mid to late January. Closes late February.
- June session: Opens late April. Closes late May.
- September session: Opens late July. Closes late August.
- December session: Opens late October. Closes mid-November.
Candidates can register online through your AF’s Kiosque platform. You’ll need a government photo ID (Aadhaar, Passport, Voter ID, or Driving License), a passport photo, and the DELF exam fee. Check out our guide to French DELF explained.
When will I get my DELF Result & Diploma?
AF publishes the results 6 to 8 weeks after the exam, while the printed diploma arrives in 3 to 4 months. A score attestation is issued alongside the results and can be used for admissions, job applications, or visa applications. The DELF diploma is valid for life and does not expire.
For example, if you take DELF B2 in June 2026, results will be available by late July or early August, and the diploma will arrive by September or October. The AF center will email you when the diploma is ready for pickup, and you can authorize someone else to pick it up.
